This…this fucking episode. Was anybody else remarkably uncomfortable while watching this scene?
DOCTOR
UM, DOCTOR
YOU’RE SOUNDING A BIT LIKE THE MASTER HERE
CAN YOU
CAN YOU TALK ABOUT BANANAS OR SOMETHING, OR SAY FUNNY WORDS? THE “TIMELORD VICTORIOUS” THING IS FREAKING ME OUT.Yes. Exactly.
The Doctor became so power-hungry and power-drunk that he couldn’t see anything else. He thought he was a god, with power over everything. And I think that’s one of the reasons I was so happy when he regenerated. Because after Donna left (hell, even before) he was such an asshole and so power-drunk and so fucking high and mighty when it came to humans and time and everything. And I do really love that Adelle basically went “fuck you, you don’t control time, you don’t control what’s supposed to happen” and made sure that things happened the way they were supposed to instead of the way the Doctor wanted them to.

This is when I realized that the Doctor isn’t someone to be lauded or worshiped or idolized. In this moment, I saw him...
Timelord Victorious is terrifying. Like… he created a visceral, physical reaction of terror.
The Water of Mars always leaves me with deep moral conflict in regards to the tenth Doctor…
